Ground Ivy Tincture 1 oz bottle.
Ground Ivy / Creeping Charlie Tincture
Glechoma hederacea
Ground Ivy, commonly known as Creeping Charlie, is a familiar backyard plant with a long history of use in Western herbalism. Traditionally valued as an aromatic, bitter, astringent herb, it has a particular affinity for the respiratory system, sinuses, digestion, urinary system, and areas where mucus, moisture, or stagnation tend to accumulate.
One of Ground Ivy’s best-known traditional uses is for the upper respiratory system. Herbalists have used it to encourage the movement of stubborn mucus and support clearer sinuses, ears, throat, and lungs. Its aromatic qualities make it especially interesting when congestion feels thick, damp, or lingering.
Its bitter nature also gives Ground Ivy an affinity for digestion. Bitters stimulate digestive processes and have traditionally been used to support appetite, digestive secretions, and healthy liver and gallbladder function.
Ground Ivy has also historically been used to support the urinary system and the body’s natural elimination of excess fluids.
Traditionally used to support:
• Sinus and upper respiratory health
• Healthy mucus clearance
• Occasional stuffiness and congestion
• Ear and throat comfort
• Clear, comfortable breathing
• Healthy digestive secretions
• Liver and gallbladder function
• Digestive comfort
• Healthy urinary function
• Normal fluid movement and elimination
• Tissue tone through its astringent properties
Energetically, Ground Ivy is aromatic, bitter, drying, moving, and clearing. I especially think of it when there is a pattern of Dampness or Phlegm with congestion, heaviness, sluggish digestion, or fluids that need encouragement to move.
Ground Ivy is another beautiful example of powerful herbal medicine growing quietly beneath our feet.
Ground Ivy / Creeping Charlie Tincture is handcrafted in small batches using whole-plant herbal medicine and formulated with intention.
